Age 91 –Ramsey (formerly North Brunswick)
Joseph R. Sciabica, 91, died peacefully on August 31, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Barnesboro, PA, on November 22, 1924 to his late parents, Rose Arcuri and John Sciabica. Joe lived most of his life in New Brunswick and North Brunswick, before recently moving to Ramsey.
Joe was a WWII Navy Veteran who played saxophone in the Admirals Band. He worked for Johnson & Johnson for 35 years in Information Technology while attending Rutgers at night, graduating in 1967. He also played professional saxophone with the Blue Esquires, along with his cousin, Joe Bongiovi. At 90, he was still playing his saxophone, golfing and rooting for his beloved Rutgers football team. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, for Joe, family was everything.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Myrna Hughes Sciabica, his son, Jack Sciabica and wife Peggy, his daughter, Terri Christmann and her husband Andrew, 4 grandchildren: Olivia, Maggie, Joey and Katie, a
nd many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and 6 sisters.
