José Carlos Cornejo Canelo, 85, of Hillsborough, died peacefully at home on September 9, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lima, Peru on November 4, 1930 to his late parents Sofia Almeida and Florencio Cornejo. Carlos was a machinist for Picut Manufacturing in Warren for 35 years. He enjoyed family picnics, trips to the beach and making others laugh. He was a loving husband and father whose strength of character, humor, and optimism always looked forward to what tomorrow might bring.
Carlos is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Catalina Villaizan Cornejo; 2 dear sons: Joseph Cornejo and Edward Cornejo; 4 adored daughters: Sofia Cornejo, Ana Neve, Patricia Hoffmann, and Linda (Carmine) Grillo; 10 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and 3 loving siblings: Alfredo (Carmen) Cornejo, Antoinetta (Juan) Cadino, and Bertha Cornejo.

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Burial: St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater.
