Obituary of Grace McCarthy

RARITAN:

Grace M. McCarthy, 86 died Sunday, September 16, 2018, surrounded by those she loved.  She was born in the Bronx to her beloved parents, Grace Engeholm and William Stokey.  Grace was a devoted wife, loving mother, dear grandmother and dearest great grandmother, and beloved sister.  She was a great baker, terrific cook, and traveled the world.  A kind, caring, generous and loving person who volunteered her time to the Somerset Medical Center for many, many years.

Grace is survived by her two loving sons – Kevin (Linda) and Robert (Carol) McCarthy.  Her sister Theresa McCarthy, grandchildren, Jason (Robin), Jaclynn, Scott (Amanda), Jennifer (Fiancé Justin) and great grandchildren – Addison, Riley, Wyatt, Emerson, Grayson, and Tanner, and several relatives and friends.

Grace was pre-deceased by her husband John and brother-in-law, Charles McCarthy.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the funeral home from 4-8pm.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 8:30am – 9:30am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 60 Maple Avenue, Bradley Gardens, Bridgewater.

Burial will take place at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, where she will be buried next to her beloved husband John J. McCarthy, who died in 1995.
