Obituary of George Robertson Sweet

George Robinson Sweet 78, died peacefully on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center.   He was born on February 7, 1940 in Stanford (Red Hook), NY to his parents Dolores (Cordero) and Daniel Gilson Sweet.   George was a Machinist Engineer and was last employed at Phillips Safety Products in Middlesex.  He also owned his own Tool and Die business for over 20 years called Sweet Metal Products.  George was also a military veteran.  He served in United State Air Force from 1958 – 1962.

George was a loving father and friend, who was always giving a helping hand.  He adored his family and friends and his memory will never be forgotten.

George is survived by his three sons George, Leonard and Jeremy, and his daughters Tammy (Tim) Murphy, Theresa (Frank) Runiak, Natalie and Valerie.  His brother Sonny Daniel Gilson, sisters Margaret (Victor) Curtis and Juanita (Donald) Pendergast and his 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

George is predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Christopher Sweet.

 Memorial services are Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 11:30-12:30pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church 34 South 3^rd Avenue, Manville, NJ 856-577-6898 followed by military honors and repass.  Flowers and donations are welcomed and can be sent to the church, labeled to George Sweet’s family.
