I just heard about David’s passing We worked closely together at NY Life for many years. I was his manager and we were friends. What a good kind descent man. He always remained calm (mostly) though some crazy situations. His wife Galina also worked at NY life so I also got to know her. I could see that Dave clearly loved her thorough his words and actions.
I had faith in Dave’s ability to always get things done and he never let me down. No matter how crazy the work and lack of details, he would find a way to make it work. (e.g like iplanet plug-in or a Websphere filter , reset apps, etc )
Whenever I had to give a presentation, and wanted to begin with a joke, I would call Dave to provide me with one. He knew so many jokes.
I heard about his vacations in DR and at times some dreams like possibly retiring to Panama. When Dave finally did retire, he remained in NJ since his son, daughter in law and grandson were there. Being close to his family was the clearly more important. He loved his family.
The last time I saw Dave was at his retirement party. Although I did not stay in touch, I still considered him a friend. I am sorry about his passing. There is one less good man in the world.
I have also heard that Galina recently passed away. I assume she just needed to be together with Dave again.
Rest in Peace, David and Galina.
