Obituary of Mathilde Bayer

Mathilde Bayer, 84, died peacefully on Saturday morning January 2, 2021 in Califon Borough New Jersey.  She was born on June 19, 1936 in Kronach Germany to her dear parents the late Anna (Fobel) and Konrad Geiger.  Mathilde was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mathilde was kind, caring, generous and loving and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mathilde is survived by her loving children, Wolfgang Bayer(wife Cathy) of Phillipsburg NJ, George Bayer of Readington NJ, Colleen Bayer of Branchburg NJ and Catherine Dutton (husband Rob).  She is also survived by her grandchildren  Codie Anne, Emily, Angellica, Adon, Jacqueline, Joseph, Samantha, Jessica, Carissa(Adam) and Sarah, seven great-grandchildren and siblings Konrad and Franz.  

Mathilde was predeceased by her loving husband Edgar G Bayer April 1, 1994.

Visitation will take place on Friday January 8, 2021 between 7:00pm and 9:00pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue Raritan NJ 08869, (908)-725-1887.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 9, 2021 at 10:00am at St Bernard of Clairvaux RC Church 500 US-22 Bridgewater NJ.

Burial will follow at St Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater NJ. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mathilde’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
