Doreen Maraspin Benedetto Age 83

Doreen Maraspin Benedetto died November 1, 2023 surrounded by those she loved. She was born August 29, 1940, to her dear parents, Matteo and Maria Giovanelli Maraspin. Doreen migrated to the United States from Italy in 1951 along with her parents and five Siblings.

She was predeceased by her brother Cipriano, and sisters Louise and Antonia, all who were residents of Raritan. She is survived by her son Matthew, two brothers, Mario of Raritan, and Lyno of Ringoes, and several grandchildren.

Doreen grew up in Raritan and Graduated from Somerville High School. Upon graduation, Doreen worked for the Probation Department in Somerville as a private secretary for a presiding judge. Thereafter, she married her High School sweetheart and had her only son Matthew and had a long career with Ethicon Surgical Technologies Company in Bridgewater, a Johnson & Johnson Company as a pharmaceutical tech.

Later in life, she married John Benedetto. Together, they shared a fulfilling partnership and found happiness traveling the world with each other. Doreen was predeceased by John in December 2012.

Doreen loved her dogs Bambi #1 and Bambi #2. She spent her later years living life to the fullest, truly appreciating the finer things in life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and shopping, and would accompany her brother Lyno to many different racetracks. She absolutely loved going down to the winner’s circle to get her picture taken. She also enjoyed traveling to venues where her son’s show horses would compete and spending time with those she loved anytime she could.

Doreen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Viewing will be held Monday November 6, 2023 9am-12PM at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Ave Raritan, NJ 08869 

Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery alongside her beloved husband 551 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ 08807
