Obituary of Joseph L Barnish

BRIDGEWATER-  Joseph L. Barnish, 98, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  He was born on October 22, 1925 to the late Mary and James Barnish in Dunlo, Pennsylvania.

Joseph proudly served in the Navy during WWII.  He was a member of the VFW 2290 in Manville, NJ.  Joseph enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, riding his Harley Davidson, attending BINGO and deer hunting.  Above all he loved his family and his late pet dog "Scrapper".  Joseph will be remebered by all who knew him as a funny, kind, generous and hard working man.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Olga, loving daughters Patricia Zimmerman (John Paul Daigle) and Kathy Barnish, cherished granddaughter Crystal Byrd (Kevin),  a brother Raymond Barnish (Evelyn) and several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Walter, Henry, John and Leo and a sister Mildred Nowosielski.

A Celebration of his life will be Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Somerville Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #1068 located at 375 Union Avenue, Bridgewater, NJ.
